Project Description
The work includes selective removal work, site preparation for the new antenna compound, including concrete foundations, equipment shelter, battery room renovations, conference room renovations, and incidental related work. Site work includes bituminous concrete roadway, concrete sidewalk, chain link fence, exterior lighting, security cameras, transformers, switchgear, power cable and new manholes.
Electrical work includes installation, startup and commissioning of 16,000 feet of 15kV, 500MCM cable, sixteen new full size octagonal electrical manholes, one 12.47kV to 480V double ended unit substation with 1200A electrically operated primary switchgear and two 1500kVA transformers, two 1000kW, 480V engine generators, two 4pole, 480V, 2000A automatic transfer switches, two 1000kVA 480V to 208/120V dry transformers, one 480V, 1600A distribution switchboard, one 208V, 4000A distribution switchboard, one 480V, 100A panel board, two 208V, 800A distribution switchboards with 200% neutral, two 208V, 400A switchboards, nine 208V panel boards ranging from 100A to 225A and 200% neutral, and wire mesh signal reference grounding grid. Install of five new analog/addressable fire alarm systems and extending one existing analog/addressable fire alarm system.
Lewis Electric self performed and is overall responsible for all project electrical work and coordination with other trades, the prime contractor and subcontractors. Lewis Electric onsite electrical superintendant was Buddy Bond who managed an electrical crew of up to 10 journeyman electricians, electrical apprentices and technician specialists.
